I’m sure everyone has heard that the three big auto makers are asking the government for money. (25 billion) Bail us out their crying. I am a little mystified by this. No one bailed my family and I out, when we had a financial crisis. The government did not come running to help us. Nor did we ask for help. My family and I got into the financial mess, (being responsible) we felt
we were the ones to get us out of the mess. It wasn’t easy, but we are better off today.
What really gets me is, people think the government should bail out the auto makers. Where do you think the government is going to get the money to do this? Apparently some people think the government has a lot of money just sitting around. Well they can just print more money some say. PRINTING MORE MONEY LEADS TO INFLATION.
Many of us (who live on a budget), have noticed our grocery bills have gotten higher. Some think its because of the price of gas. Well the high price of gas certainly contributes to high prices, because higher prices are passed on to the consumer.
Think about this-the price of gas has come down-has your grocery bill? Oh you say gas prices have only been down for a little while, it’ll take time for the price of other things to come down. That is hogwash and you know it. Once the price goes up, it hardly ever comes down, especially on necessity items like food. Inflation at work.
Anyway back to the auto makers.
They have been in trouble for quit awhile. I don’t know about you, but in my life if something is not working, I try to find out how to make it work better, or go back to the drawing board and start over.
Henry Ford would rather go bankrupt, than have the government in his business, he would never even think to ask the government for help. He would have helped himself.
I don’t know many people who can afford a house payment and a new vehicle payment. The price of vehicles is outrageous. I cant justify paying 20 to 40 thousand on something that depreciates in value faster that you can pay it off.
FYI-if the government bails them out, you the tax payer are going to pay for it.
Which wouldn’t be so bad, except what an I getting out of this deal. (screwed) I would like a new vehicle of my choice every year for the next ten years FREE.
That’s not going to happen, I don’t what to pay for some one Else’s mistakes.
By the way here are some ways the government makes money, TAXES
However with a weak economy, there is the possibility of job loss. I feel that the auto makers should cut expenses just like every one else. What about all the jobs lost, Our New President wants to extend unemployment benefits, so there should be no worries about jobs. Who is going to pay for that, you say. You guessed it MR and MRS TAXPAYER.
The harsh reality is-someone is going to pay ether way-
Note-the reason I do not capitalize government is….they have not earned my respect-
Beware of the official making promises they cant keep
